12th e-Learning Excellence Awards 2026

e-Learning and blended learning have become an integral part of education and training at all levels, from schools and universities to professional and workplace learning. As digital technologies continue to transform the way knowledge is created, shared and experienced, innovative approaches to e-learning are playing an increasingly important role in shaping the future of education.

The International e-Learning Excellence Awards provide an opportunity to recognise and celebrate this innovation. The Awards offer individuals and teams from around the world a platform to share their ideas, experiences and achievements, and to demonstrate how e-learning can be used creatively and effectively to enhance learning.

The response to the 12th International e-Learning Excellence Awards once again demonstrates the breadth and creativity of e-learning practice internationally. A total of 15 initial submissions from 10 countries were received, with 12 competitors subsequently invited to develop their ideas into detailed case histories describing their initiatives, approaches and experiences.

The resulting case histories covered a diverse range of themes and applications, reflecting the many ways in which e-learning is being used to address contemporary educational and training challenges. The quality and variety of the submissions made the task particularly challenging for our panel of expert judges. Following a double-blind review process, the judges identified the most compelling entries and selected the finalists whose work is presented in this anthology.

Seven authors or groups of authors have been invited to present their work in the final round of the competition at the 2026 European Conference on e-Learning, hosted by the Lund University, Sweden. As finalists, their initiatives are brought together in this book of case histories, providing readers with an opportunity to explore a diverse collection of innovative e-learning practices.

The case histories featured in this volume represent initiatives from Australia, Bahrain, Estonia, Hong Kong and Lithuania. Together, they illustrate the international nature of e-learning innovation and the different ways in which educators and organisations are using digital approaches to create new learning opportunities and experiences.

I would like to express my sincere thanks to all the contributors to this book for sharing their work and for their commitment to developing new and imaginative approaches to e-learning. Their contributions provide valuable insights into the continuing evolution of digital learning and the possibilities it offers for education and training.

Finally, I would like to thank the members of our panel of expert judges for the time, expertise and care they have devoted to the Awards. Their contribution has been essential to the success of the competition and to recognising the innovative work presented in this volume.
