AI already plays a role in many parts of everyday life. New applications known as “Griefbots” and “Memorybots” suggest it may also influence how we remember loved ones after death and how people with memory loss can be supported while alive. These possibilities raise important and sensitive questions about technology, memory, and human relationships.

The book explains what Griefbots and Memorybots are, how they can be created and
used, and what their wider impact may be in the future. It also explores how AI could help people with cognitive impairment, from mild age-related forgetfulness to advanced dementia. Ethical concerns, including consent, privacy, and emotional dependency, are addressed throughout.
