These proceedings represent the work of contributors to the 18th European Conference on Management Leadership and Governance (ECMLG 2022) hosted by ACI and ISCTE – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, Portugal on 10 - 11 November 2022. The Conference Chair is Professor Florinda Matos and the Program chair is Professor Álvaro Rosa, both from ISCTE – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, Portugal.

ECMLG is now a well-established event on the academic research calendar and now in its 18th  year the key aim remains the opportunity for participants to share ideas and meet the people who hold them. The scope of papers will ensure an interesting two days. The subjects covered illustrate the wide range of topics that fall into this important and ever-growing area of research.

The opening keynote presentation is given by Professor Miguel Pina e Cunha, Nova SBE -  Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Portugal, on the topic of Paradoxes of power and leadership. The second day of the conference Keynote presentation is given by Professor Stefan Güldenberg, EHL Hospitality Business School Lausanne, on the topic of Rethinking Leadership in the Knowledge Economy.

 

With an initial submission of 129 abstracts, after the double blind, peer review process there are 56 Academic research papers, 8 PhD research papers, and 2 work-in-progress papers published in these Conference Proceedings. These papers represent research from Austria, Brazil, Colombia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Ireland, Kuwait, Lebanon, Lithuania, Macau, Malta, Nepal, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Norway, Pakistan, Poland, Portugal, Russia, South Africa, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, The Netherlands, UK, United Arab Emirates and the USA.
